LSUS is an open-minded community that inspires you to find your own spiritual path.
For over 50 years, Lake Shore Unitarian Society (LSUS) has brought interfaith families from a variety of religious backgrounds together in a community of shared values: compassion, respect, and responsibility. At our weekly service, LSUS hosts a highly regarded speaker, who is drawn from a wide range of fields and provides insights that inspire and enhance appreciation for the world in which we live. We offer quality music as another source of spiritual inspiration.
All are welcome
Whether you’re ready to connect with a congregation or just exploring possibilities, you’ll get a warm welcome here from our open, accepting group. Although our heritage is largely Judeo-Christian, we welcome people of all religious backgrounds and embrace diversity in race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. After services, we catch up with friends old and new in an informal coffee hour. Please join us for an upcoming service.
Bring your children
LSUS is a great place for kids! Our Religious Explorations (RE) program aims to provide children and teens the spiritual and cultural literacy they need in this increasingly interdependent world. While parents are in services, preschoolers through high schoolers take part in developmentally appropriate Sunday school classes. 7th graders and up participate in lively discussions, site visits to other congregations, and social service projects. Younger students have their own discussions. Classes begin with a “Joys and Concerns” session. The students learn about the world’s major religions through crafts, games, and other engaging activities.
