After Sunday services this January members of our LSUS community made Valentine Day cards for hospitalized children. Thanks to the love and creativity of our talented card makers, we have over 50 beautiful valentines to distribute through Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
Cards for Hospitalized Kids was founded in 2011 by Jen Rubino, a Maine South High School graduate. Having been hospitalized over 23 times for the connective tissue disorder from which she suffers, Jen knows well how lonely it can be recuperating in a hospital and how much a letter or card can brighten one’s spirits. Since its founding, Cards for Hospitalized Kids has distributed cards to over 100,000 kids in all 50 states.
