(Virtual Service) Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World
December 13, 2020 @ 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM

This Sunday we will have special holiday music played by pianist Andrew Blendermann and a surprise or two. Ami Campbell, Wilmette resident and author, will speak on the topic Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World. Generosity is proven to make people happier. Why, then, don’t more people practice it? Ms. Campbell will share both the social science and theological underpinnings of giving, as well as her personal story of radical generosity, to inform and inspire us. She will invite us all to rediscover our giving selves and to embrace the idea that radical generosity is a way of living, not just an act of giving.
Ami Campbell champions generosity in her TEDx talk on radical generosity and co-authored book Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World (Eerdmans 2017). Her writing has appeared in Philanthropy Daily, RELEVANT magazine, The Christian Century, and the Harvard Business School Alumni Bulletin. She is a consultant and stewardship educator who helps people rediscover their giving selves. She and her family have attended LaSalle Street Church in downtown Chicago for 23 years. LaSalle is a multidenominational and diverse church with a long history of incubating ministries and promoting social justice; its current focus is racial equity.
After services, from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM, we will open Zoom for informal general discussion, as well as an opportunity to join a conversation group with Ami Campbell.
