Major Supreme Court Decisions of the 2020-2021 Term

Julie Strauss, Ph.D., will speak on the topic, Major Supreme Court Decisions of the 2020-2021 Term. She will discuss two of the major decision of the U.S. Supreme Court as it has been newly configured with the addition of Amy Comey Barrett. She will examine the case concerning the Affordable Care Act and a case of voting rights. Also, Julie will mention some of the big cases that the court will be considering during this current term.
Julie Strauss has given talks in a variety of settings including Oakton Community College, various Jewish communities, North Shore Senior Center, retirement facilities, community groups and at several Road Scholar’s seminars at the Perlstein Resort in Wisconsin. She received her Ph.D. in American Politics from Northwestern University. Her dissertation examined the unique role of women members of Congress have had on public policy. Prior to entering graduate school, she spent two years on Capitol Hill working for elected officials.
