Music/Religious Explorations Program
May 19, 2019 @ 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Our final service of the 2018-2019 year will feature Hazel Friedman on the piano, Ada Kahn on the flute and our children of Religious Explorations. Hazel will play selections by Scriabin, Muczynski, Gershwin and one other composer. Ada will play a piece from J.S. Bach. The children will tell us what they learned this year.
Hazel Friedman is an accomplished student pianist living in Chicago as a third year piano performance major at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. In 2014, Hazel was the first place winner of the San Diego Symphony’s “Hot Shot” Concerto Competition and subsequently soloed with the San Diego Symphony. Recent performances include solo recitals in La Jolla, California and Baltimore, Maryland, and solo and collaborative recitals in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has worked and performed for Unitarian church services over the past seven years, and is very excited to be performing for us today.
Ada Kahn is a long-time member of LSUS and has been performing with her flute for many years around the North Shore.
Please join us for our opening service on Sunday, September 8. Dr. Judith Levi, Associate Professor Emerita in the Department of Linguistics at Northwestern University, will speak on the topic, Part 1: Our Marvelously Multiple Identities.
