how to get started with LSUS SUNDAY ZOOM Services

  1. Where to find log-in information: You will receive a “Weekly Update” email mid-week before the upcoming Sunday. The Zoom log-in link will be in that e-mail and a “print friendly” Order of Service” and hymn will be attached.
  2. The service starts at 10:30am. Please login at 10:15am to check your audio and video and to enjoy the preservice greetings.
  3. Before and after the service you can choose to be in “speaker view” or “gallery view.” During the service we ask that you be in Speaker View because we will use “spotlight” so everyone is seeing the same view.
  4. Make sure you know how to mute/unmute yourself.
  5. Print hymn and order of service ahead of time if you want to follow along. You will be muted but you will be able to hear yourself and the speaker or musician.
  6. Be sure to enter your joys and concerns in the chat room before or early in the service so the lay leader can read them at the appropriate time.
  7. During the “Coffee and Conversation” period (approximately 11:30 to noon) there will be a “breakout room” for anyone who wants to continue conversation with the speaker.
  8. Depending on the Sunday, we may use additional “breakout rooms” for the coffee and conversation period. You can leave your “breakout room.” That will take you back to the main area and you can then ask to be put into a different “breakout room.”
